44 Magnum Python - The Colt Anaconda is a fully automatic double barrel shotgun featuring a full steel under barrel and six round barrels designed and manufactured by Colt manufacturers in the 1990s. Released for the .44 Magnum and .45 Colt cterfire, the Anaconda printer box marked Hartford, Connecticut's leading entry into the popular Magnum handgun market.
Built on a newer, heavier "MM" frame, the Anaconda is brought to compete with contemporary .44 Magnums, such as the Smith & Wesson Model 29, Sturm, Ruger & Co. Redhawk and Blackhawk and Dan Wesson Firearms Model 44 Considering that many of these models have been on the market for the entire 35 years, the Anaconda is a slow attempt into the artillery market.

Unlike other pistols introduced in the 1980s and 1990s, the Anaconda was never offered with blued carbon steel, but was only available in stainless steel.

Initially introduced, the Anacondas were plagued with poor accuracy, but the barrel swap quickly corrected the problem to the point where Colt billed their new pistol as the most accurate .44 Magnum pistol in production.
Anaconda revolvers are primarily for sale to sport shooters and hunters because they are too large for legal requirements or concealment, although limited edition Colt rifles remain available in stores until about 2003.
In 2021, Colt resumed production of the Anaconda, using a new design with a stronger frame and larger Python action.
Originally adapted for the .44 Magnum printer box in 1993, Anaconda began offering the .45 Colt as well. Its fit and finish is reminiscent of a giant King Cobra married to a barrel with ribs resembling a python.

The first market was sold in satin stainless steel, a polished glass-like option known as “Ultimate Stainless” was available through the Colt Custom Shop for a while. Anacondas feature four-, six-, or eight-inch barrels of neoprene synthetic rubber with a "Rampant Colt" nickel-plated hammer and trigger, oversized target-type triggers, and red-faced scope inserts. And a fully adjustable white outline in the back.
Some models are factory drilled and threaded for telescoping, while others ship with a Magna-Ported tank reducer.
The trigger action on these pistols is rated high quality, and the rugged construction and tds weight to reabsorb make the Anaconda easy to shoot with heavy loads.
Introduced in 1993, the Kodiak is similar to the Anaconda in that it is constructed of stainless steel but offers the extra features of a factory-built Magna mount barrel, low spin, and no cylinder.

There are 2000 Kodiaks that were created as a special run of the Anacondas, breaking away from their long history of naming revolvers after snakes.
The special run of the 1000 King Cobras runs concurrently with the same Magna-Ported tank and non-blower cylinder and is called the Grizzly.
An unnamed 5-inch tank version of the Anaconda was produced with fewer than 150 ratios. These 5-inch versions are so expensive that they object.
Additionally, Colt has produced the lowest number of 4" Anaconda tanks in the .45 Colt room. This rare variation also drives the anti-premium price. Python is exactly what people dream of in a gun. Python Slightly larger. Frame size .41 Wide, convex edges.

In the world of firearms, which one is better is hard to quantify. A series of innovations and remarkable designs during the nearly two hundred years of gun development have made the place crowded. However, in the world of revolving rifles, there is clearly one that far outsells the Colt Python game. It is almost certainly the perfect shotgun.
In many ways, it's only natural that the perfect gun would come from Colt. Developed by founder Samuel Colt, maker of Colt's patented weapons, Colt specializes in revolvers. Samuel Colt's first artillery was the Walker Colt, a six-barrel steel-framed black .44-caliber artillery. The nine-inch barrel made it the installed cavalry's favorite weapon, and the tracked Colt was a more refined Dragoon series.
More than a hundred years after the success of the Colt cavalry line, the company has released a new pistol, the Colt Python. An early mid-20th century Colt pistol, named after the python, was introduced in 1955. Pythons are bears, guns, iron and wood are all chambered in the .357 Magnum chamber. The gun had six barrels and was originally bright nickel or navy blue.
Pythons are exactly what people dream of as guns. Python has a slightly larger .41 size frame with nice edges. The trigger hole is large and can fit fingers and gloves. Shotguns are most commonly sold with six-inch barrels, although two-, three-, four-, and eight-inch barrels are also available.
Review] Colt Python: Truly The Best Revolver?
The container is Python's clearest and most beautiful feature. Full-length vented ribs ran the length of the barrel to the port, providing a view of the fore metal. This is completed by a full length carriage with inverted sticks placed inside. The result is a container that, at first glance, looks bigger than it appears.
Pythons were handcrafted the old-fashioned way when one gun writer said, "The technology is quite expensive. The labor force is also cheaper than gun users." The parts are hand-assembled by an expert machine which can take time to tweak and polish the fifty-seven parts that make up the Colt Python until it runs like clockwork.Python is probably the ultimate artillery made with a marvel of Old World craftsmanship.
Colt Python has the best accuracy out of the box and is awarded by gun owners for their accuracy. Guns Authority Chuck Hawks confirmed that his Python came from the factory with a paper target with “3/4 inch, 6 guns at 25 yards” using factory ammunition.
Like its predecessors the Walker Colt and Dragoon, this handsome rifle has found a special place among police and highway patrolmen across the country. Law enforcement officers, like their predecessors, traveled by car (even by car instead of horseback), praised the reliable side with the guaranteed horsepower and stopping power of the 357 Magnum printer.

All the iron and wood are actually made for heavy weapons: the python weighs two pounds six ounces, it doesn't carry the full ten ounce weight, heavier than the unloaded Glock 17. But while the Glock 17 is limited to 9mm bullets, the Python can fire both lighter .38-round specials and .357 Magnums. The weight of the Python steel is also useful for absorbing Magnum levels.
The Colt Python was retired by Colt in 2005. Exactly why Colt dropped such a coveted money maker is not known, but the high cost of modern labor - Python alone can require hours of personal attention - could be the reason. . While modern machine processes can create Python parity, ensuring that hours of personal attention and gunmaking expertise are invested in the product cannot be replicated by machine. A combination of firepower, exquisite design, aesthetics and perfect craftsmanship, the Colt Python is the perfect pistol.

The larger redesign based on their new Python action with the larger 2021 Anaconda frame will be available in 6- and 8-inch tank profiles. Other features include leaf spring action, the reclaimed Hogue grip, interchangeable with the Python grip, and a fully adjustable sight. The frame is drilled and pressed so that the optics beckon the sniper.
